How Do You Stay On Track?

Ok you have told yourself that you need to lose weight for Summer or it maybe a special occasion like a school reunion.
So you plan your weight loss goals and join a GYM. Monday morning comes around and your off to a great start. You are at the GYM bright and early, eating all the right foods. Two weeks go by and you are still going strong and than BAM! you miss a day of exercising. Your out with the girls having a coffee and cause your feeling down, You indulge in a chocolate cake. Than you tell yourself "This is to Hard" you want to give up. Now What?

Don't Panic

Setbacks have no power, it's your attitude or Mind that makes the difference. When embarking on a lifestyle change, you will feel inspired one day and down the next. Don't Panic this is normal. You have a choice though, do you give up? Or do you make changes to stay on track?
Here's How to manage different kinds of challenges.

How to manage different kinds of challenges

When embarking on a life changing course we will make mistakes and when it comes to eating healthier its no different. The key to staying on track is how you mange those choices. Make sure you talk to yourself with positive comments not negative ones. You will get back on Track.
For example:

Situation:
You eat extra servings of your favourite meal that your mum's made for you- 700 calories! You feel so guilty and you beat yourself up mentally. You say " Thats it, this is not working. It's just to hard, I can't do it." You also say:" Whats the use" cause you believe that things won't change.

Solution:
Say this to yourself, "Well, I wish I didn't eat that much, but I did. That's ok". Than you decide that in the future you will  rethink your calorie level when eating your Mum's cooking. You will plan to budget extra calories when you go there next time.  Than you say, "I will make a point to eat more carefully today and I can enjoy my favourites and keep my weight in check too".

Play it Over in Your Mind:

Once you have gone through a setback, its time to envision the solutions. What I mean is, mentally rehears or imagine yourself  managing stressful events successfully.

Situation:
You have a up and coming family reunion and you feel anxious because of the great food that is always served at these events.

Solution:
For several days prior to the event, take ten minutes and sit in a quiet spot. Close your eyes and see yourself at the family reunion. See yourself confidently entering the room, easily interacting with friends and family. You’re looking over the buffet, seeing the foods you really love. Seeing yourself making wise choices, choosing small portions and eating mindfully. Imagine leaving the event feeling great with how well you handled yourself.

Don't worry if you don't know the specific details of the event, that's fine. Your mind will not know the difference between what's real and what's not. If you repeat this exercise, you will build confidence in yourself  to make the right choices in reality.

Final Thought and Tip:

My final thoughts on all this is that make sure that you are true to yourself . Face your setbacks early on, because you are only letting yourself down if you say you are going to do or commit to something. When you well know deep down that you will not fellow through with it.
e.g Every morning you say that you will go to gym after work but you know you won't.

Take responsibility for your choices. Stop setting yourself up for failure. Either find a better time that suits you to go to gym or do something that you like. e.g take up dancing lessons or walking. By finding something that you really like will help you keep motivated and moving your body.

Tell me your Thoughts.....

What helps you keep on Track? What do you need to stay honest about?

Why is Gluten making people sick....Is it making you sick???

The facts on why Gluten is making some people very sick put into very basic terminology for you.
Do you ever have any of these Symptoms: (I did) Bloating, diarrhoea, constipation, musculalar disturbances, headaches, migraines, acne, fatigue, depression, bone and joint pain, Coeliac Disease (no absorption of nutrients B12, zinc, iron) all gluten needs to be avoided!
Wheat is government subsidised which means it's "cheap" to make and is Mass produced.
Soy and Corn are subsidised as well which is why they are used for cheap fillers in our Foods and Mass produced!
Wheat produced today is bred with higher Gluten levels to "Mass" produce flour for our breads and pasta.
Before wheat is harvested in the spring and winter it is sprayed with chemicals and pesticides.
Wheat is stored up to 12 months or longer, during this time the vitamin B deteriorates.
While it's stored in grain silos it is susceptible to insects, mould, and rats so it is sprayed regularly with lots of chemicals to keep the pests away.
Once it finally reaches the mill the wheat grain is ground the husk is blown off and what is left is white flour, they then add Vitamens back in to replace what was lost.
Then the flour is stored and kept in gases like nitrogen to keep more pests away! The flour can last years in this state!
Then when it finally becomes bread more preservatives and chemicals are added to stop it from going Mouldy on the shop shelves.....Then we buy it and eat it.
So why could you be Gluten intolerant because today's wheat is so genetically modified many of us could be sick from it and not even realise.....it's the little slice of bread for lunch or the serve of pasta we had for last nights dinner or the cereal we just had for breakfast that could be making you and I sick.
So what could you do to find out?
You could have tests or you could simply
Listen to your body and take notice of how you are feeling after you eat certain foods, do a food Journel.
You may be surprised as to how you feel and will lead you to make changes to your food....Imagine how wonderful if some of the symptoms you feel could be removed and your life changes for the better.....all because you took a few minutes out to read this.
